There is something so wonderfully hopeful about a new year. It’s a chance to take a hard look at your life and re-evaluate your choices. It’s an opportunity to dream big, while also setting boundaries on areas of your life that are no longer fulfilling. It’s the time to re-align yourself and your actions with your values. It’s a chance to reconnect with the person you want to be and identify steps towards becoming the best version of yourself.

There is a contagious energy that a new year brings that you can’t help but be inspired by. Whether 2022 was wonderful or treacherous for you, I always recommend setting aside some time at the end of the year to identify your hopes, goals, and visions for the coming year.

As the new year approaches, here are some questions to think about as you begin setting your goals and resolutions:

  1. What would your goals/resolutions be if the opinions of other people did not matter?

  2. How can you find more time to engage in activities and spend time with people that fill your soul?

  3. What is one way that you could live more in line with your values?

  4. Are you holding unrealistic expectations for yourself in any areas of your life? What is one way that you could work towards letting go of these expectations or making them more realistic this year?

  5. How can you work towards showing more compassion for yourself?

  6. Is there an area of self-care that you have been neglecting? What steps can you take to better care for yourself in that area this year?

  7. If you weren’t afraid of failing, what goal would you set for yourself?

  8. What areas of your life have been causing stress? How can you work towards releasing yourself from this stress in the new year?

  9. How do you see yourself growing personally and professionally this year?
