What should I expect from therapy sessions?

The first session is where we will work collaboratively to discuss the challenges you or your child are currently facing and the goals for therapy sessions. Moving forward, we teach the skills and tools to learn how to manage challenging situations in a healthier way. Therapy is always a collaborative process and you ultimately determine the goals that you want to work towards. We provide the support and tools to help you achieve these goals and learn to flourish.

How long are therapy sessions?
Sessions are 50-60 minutes as the standard therapy hour.

How often are therapy sessions scheduled?
Session frequency can vary based on client need and preference. Flourish Counseling Services offers sessions on a weekly, twice-monthly, or monthly basis. Typically sessions begin on a weekly or twice-monthly basis and as progress is made, the frequency is reduced. It can always be increased again if there is an additional concern or if added support is needed. This is a collaborative process and our goal is to best benefit the client's needs.

What format are sessions offered in?
Currently sessions are offered via teletherapy through a HIPAA-secure platform. Our clients find that they prefer teletherapy due to the convenience of not having to commute to the session. Teletherapy sessions are engaging and interactive. Additionally, you or your child are able to engage in therapy sessions from the comfort of your own home.

When are sessions offered?

Here at Flourish Counseling Services, we know that you lead busy lives. We work to accommodate your scheduling needs and determine a session time that fits into your schedule. Give us a call to discuss your scheduling needs today.

Do you accept my insurance?

Flourish Counseling Services is fully credentialed with United Health Care, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Aetna Commercial plans at this time.

At this moment, we bill directly with the insurance plans listed above. For others not listed, we are covered as out-of-network providers by many insurance plans. Session fees are paid by the client at the time of service, but we can provide a receipt that clients may use to seek reimbursement for services. If you choose not to use insurance, there are benefits to you as the consumer, such as no mental health diagnosis needed, a greater selection of therapists, choice in the length of treatment or session time, and increased privacy and confidentiality.

If you are using your insurance, you are encouraged to contact your insurance company to ensure coverage. Great questions to ask would be if you have mental health coverage, what your deductible is, how many sessions would be covered, and what coverage is available for in-network and out-of-network providers.

What is the cost of sessions?

The cost of sessions is $130/hour session. Sliding Scale sessions are offered on a case-by-case basis.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
